About this project

An academic pharmacy project demonstrating how AI can support early-stage drug evaluation.

Purpose
The AI-Assisted New Drug Evaluation System digitally evaluates a newly discovered drug candidate and provides a preliminary scientific evaluation based on the information entered by the user. It is designed as a teaching and research aid for pharmacy students and early-stage researchers.
The role of AI in drug evaluation

Traditional drug evaluation requires considerable time, laboratory testing, preclinical studies and clinical research. AI can support the early screening step by reasoning over provided molecular, pharmacological and safety information and highlighting strengths, gaps and areas that require experimental confirmation.

This system reasons only over the information the user provides plus well-established pharmaceutical principles. It never generates fake experimental, toxicity or clinical data.

Benefits
  • • Faster preliminary screening of candidates
  • • Structured, consistent evaluation framework
  • • Highlights missing information early
  • • Educational tool for pharmacy students
  • • Enables side-by-side candidate comparison
Limitations
  • • Cannot replace laboratory experiments
  • • Cannot replace preclinical or clinical trials
  • • Cannot provide regulatory approval
  • • Quality depends entirely on input data
  • • Not a substitute for professional judgment
Safety disclaimer
This AI system provides preliminary digital analysis based only on the information provided by the user. The results are intended for educational and research purposes and must not be considered definitive evidence of drug safety, efficacy, or clinical suitability. AI-based evaluation cannot replace laboratory experiments, preclinical studies, clinical trials, regulatory evaluation, or professional scientific judgment.
